NPFL: Mohammed Babaganaru exits Akwa United
Mohammed Babaganaru has reportedly stepped down from his role as the technical adviser of Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side Akwa United.
The decision came after Akwa United’s 1-1 home draw against Bendel Insurance on Monday at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.
The result has left the Promise Keepers struggling in 19th place on the NPFL table with just 16 points, prompting Babaganaru’s departure amid the team’s poor performance.
The experienced gaffer took over the reign at the club last season following the resignation of Fatai Osho.
The former Wikki Tourists handler helped steer the club out of relegation.
Akwa United have however endured a difficult start to the 2024/25 campaign with four wins, four draws and eight defeats from 16 games.
The Uyo club have not released any official statement confirming Babaganaru’s departure.
