R&B legend, Frankie Beverly dies at 77

Frankie Beverly, the legendary American singer and producer known for his work with the group Maze, has passed away at the age of 77.

The R&B hitmaker, whose smooth vocals and classic hits like ‘Before I Let Go’ resonated with audiences worldwide, died on Tuesday.

His family shared the sad news on Wednesday through the official Instagram account of Frankie Beverly and Maze, expressing their grief and thanking fans for their love and support during this time.

“Grieving the loss of a loved one is a deep and emotional experience. During this time, as we are navigating feelings of sorrow, reflection, and remembrance we ask for privacy and understanding, allowing us the space to grieve in our own way.

“This period is one of healing, and your respect for our need for solitude is appreciated as we honor the memory of our beloved Howard Stanley Beverly known to the world as Frankie Beverly.”

Beverly was popularly known for his soul and funk band Maze, which he formed in 1970.
