In a recent interview with VJ Adams, popular comedian and actor Bovi Ugboma opened up about the secret behind his happy marriage.

Bovi shared that he feels fortunate in love, emphasizing that luck plays a significant role in marriage before any careful planning takes place.

Despite his success, Bovi admitted that he doesn’t take himself too seriously, choosing instead to approach life one day at a time. He acknowledged the challenges that come with marriage, but stressed that true perfection lies in loving each other’s imperfections.

In a humorous revelation, Bovi joked that he always suspected his wife was older than him but claimed she “deceived” him into marriage, adding a lighthearted touch to his insights on relationships.

Bovi said he isn’t the kind of person who will stay in an unhelpful situation, so he feels grateful for his marriage. In his words:

“One day at a time, and don’t take yourself too seriously. I am lucky when it comes to marriage. I think most marriages have to do with luck before any form of planning comes into play. So, I think I am lucky.

I have learned not to take things too personally, but that doesn’t mean I don’t get pushed or worried. There is no perfect marriage but perfection comes from loving the imperfection.

I am not the type of person who will stay in a place that isn’t conducive, so that’s why I said I am lucky to be where I am, but, for many years, I was doing this one thing at a time, and I am a giver by nature.

I am lucky to have her and her wanting to have me, and wanting to have each other and make it work”.

Bovi married Kris Asimonye Ugboma in 2009.

Last year, they surprised everyone with a unique vow renewal. The popular comedian posted a romantic video of them on the beach, announcing that they renewed their vows on the water, with sailors officiating. The video went viral, and many started calling them ‘Mr and Mrs Mariners.’
