Rivers Helicopter Crash: NNPCL releases names of six victims

The tragic helicopter crash off the coast of Bonny Finima, Port Harcourt, claimed the lives of six Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited employees.

The victims have been identified as:

Tamunoemi Suku

Alu Lawrence

Etim Emmanuel

Kenneth Chikwem

Frank Oriamre

Borris Ndorbo

Along with the experienced pilot, Captain Yakubu Dukas, were en route to the FPSO-NUIMS ANTAN facility aboard an East Winds Aviation helicopter when the crash occurred.

President Bola Tinubu expressed condolences to the victims’ families and called for increased recovery efforts. Of the eight individuals on board, five bodies have been recovered, while three are still missing.

NUPENG and PENGASSAN unions mourned the loss of their members, emphasizing the impact on the oil and gas sector.

The Nigeria Air Management Agency (NAMA) has enlisted neighboring countries, including Cameroon and Equatorial Guinea, in the search and recovery efforts.

Minister of Aviation Festus Keyamo noted that divers and other search teams are working to locate the remaining passengers and wreckage in the Atlantic Ocean.
