Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has described the political hurdles his administration is encountering as part of a divine plan aimed at bringing about a “new direction” for the state’s political and economic landscape.

Speaking at a Special Thanksgiving Service in honor of His Royal Majesty, Eze Chike Worlu Wodo, Eze Oha Apara IV, Governor Fubara stressed that despite the challenges, his administration remains steadfast in its mission to drive growth and transformation in Rivers State. The service, held at the Redeemed Christian Church of God’s Shepard’s Hill Parish in Obio/Akpor, commemorated Eze Wodo’s appointment as Chairman of the Rivers State Traditional Rulers’ Council (RSTRC).

During the event, Governor Fubara received copies of the Holy Bible from church leaders and expressed his administration’s commitment to governance guided by spiritual values. He reframed the obstacles his administration faces, stating, “What you are calling trouble is not trouble to me. I see it as God’s purpose for a new direction for our State.”

He emphasized that these challenges have only strengthened the administration’s resolve. “Rather than getting weak, we are getting stronger and bolder every day. We want to complete our work, and our story will be one of those who led with the fear of God,” Fubara added.

Governor Fubara also highlighted the importance of gratitude, emphasizing that thanksgiving fosters God’s presence and clarity during uncertain times. “Even when situations seem unclear, thanksgiving brings assurance and a clearer vision,” he said.

Expressing his support for the church’s work, Fubara donated N100 million to aid their evangelical mission as a tribute to Eze Wodo. He reiterated his belief in God’s timing, saying, “There is no prayer God does not answer. It’s like a deposit in a bank. We will continue to uphold the fear of God in everything we do.”

In his response, Eze Wodo, credited God for guiding him through life’s trials and expressed his gratitude to Governor Fubara for the appointment and support. He praised the governor for his dedication to the people of Rivers State, remarking that Fubara’s leadership embodies the blessings he has enjoyed throughout his life.
