South African authorities revoke ID, Travel Documents of Chidimma Adetshina, Mother

South Africa’s Department of Home Affairs has initiated procedures to revoke the identity and travel documents of former Miss South Africa finalist Chidimma Adetshina and her mother, originally from Mozambique.

Following an investigation, the department has transferred the case to the Hawks, considering potential fraud charges.

According to Home Affairs Director-General Tommy Makhode, Adetshina and her mother failed to meet a recent deadline to justify retaining their South African documents.

Efforts by officials to locate Adetshina’s mother at a property linked to her were unsuccessful, despite indications that she may still be in the country.

Curiously, social media posts suggest Adetshina’s mother traveled to Nigeria last month to support her daughter’s victory at the Miss Universe Nigeria pageant.

Acting Deputy Director-General for Immigration, Albert Matsaung, noted the absence of any passport record showing her movement from Mozambique to Nigeria, raising further questions about her travel history and documentation.
