Wizkid sets new record as ‘Morayo’ dominates Apple music’s top 17

Afrobeats superstar Wizkid has made history with the release of his highly anticipated album, ‘Morayo’, on November 22, 2024.

The album, which honors his late mother, Juliana Morayo Balogun, who passed away in August 2023, has quickly dominated streaming charts.

In less than 10 hours after its release, every track from ‘Morayo’ secured a spot in the top 17 positions on Apple Music, marking an unprecedented achievement for the artist.

The album’s lead single, “Piece of My Heart,” is also making waves, climbing to No. 4 on the U.S. Afrobeats Songs chart and No. 7 on the World Digital Song Sales chart.

‘Morayo’ has shattered streaming records in Nigeria, with one of its singles earning a remarkable 1.57 million streams on Spotify on its opening day.
